Hero Hop: We LOVE our Military Heroes!! Giveaway!

Hi everyone! I'm SO happy you could join us for the Hero Hop! We Love Our Hero’s Blog Hop 5/21

Today is Armed Forces Day, so again, this is a hop to support and bring awareness to the works of Operation Write Home . You should have arrived from (name & addy of person in front of you), if not please start at Misty’s, so You don’t miss anything this wonderful group has to offer. In addition to card makers making cards for service persons to send home to their families, OWH has what they call ‘Hero Mail’. These cards can be any size; not just the usual required A2. They also include a personal note to ‘Any Hero’. We call them Hero’s, because OWH covers all branches of service. These are passed out to deployed hero’s, who might not get much mail, or just passed around to enjoy news from home. Here is more info.

If you are just joining me for my regular posting, make sure you stop by our host's blog Misty of Deliteful Gifts, so you can start from the beginning!
If you are coming from Tanya's blog Scrappin' Mama, then you are in the right spot!

Here is my card for Operation Write Home. My husband has been in the US Navy for 17 years, and has been gone most of his military career over seas. I think we averaged up out of our 9 years together, we had only lived together 17 mths. The work our military members do is SO very important, and my husband helped me create a fabulous new stamp collection called Freedom Isn't Free, available soon. My hubby said the most important thing when receiving a card overseas, in the midst of battle, is to always keep it solid and strong. Saying things like hurry home can actually be quite depressing; atleast for him it is. So with that in mind, I used one of the sentiments: Serving Proudly, Standing Tall with an Iwo Jima diecut I created using my Sillouhette. There's an awesome stamped sentiment inside too--can't wait to share this set with you!

Please remember our service members overseas, and say a prayer for them right this minute; stop and ask God to provide a hedge of protection around them and to keep their spirits focused and strong. I know it only takes a minute, but our prayers when united are powerful.
THANK you so much for your dedication to uplifting and encouraging our military members. From the wife of a Navy sailor--THANK YOU!
Now you are off to see Sally of Sally's Bits and her fabulous project that she has created to send to one of our military members thru OWH.
