Memorial Day Blog Hop plus Giveaway (of course!)

Welcome to my Blog and the Memorial Day Blog Hop. This hop is about showing our Patriotism and Gratitude to those serving in the Armed Forces. These cards are made with Love to Thank those Men and Women who are serving our country and allowing us all to sleep a little bit better at night .May God Bless them and keep them safe These cards will be donated to Bazzill Basics Paper who has agreed to help a little boy named Stephen in AZ who would like to send 180,000 cards to the troops by July 1st.

If you have come from Sandra's blog, then you are in the right place. If you are just visiting my blog and would like to play along then please start at Sylvia's Blog (www.bellascrapbookdesigns.blogspot.com) this hop is full of talented ladies and giveaways too.

As you know my hubby is a US Navy Sailor and has been for 17 years. He is the one who helped me create my newest stamp set, "Freedom Isn't Free". My card uses a sentiment from my newest stamp set. I fyou are interested, make sure to check out my Products tab at the top for preorders! I made this stamp set as I just couldn't find the sentiments I needed to send to military members in combat and overseas. My hubby helped me, as he said there was nothing more depressing to him than receiving cards that said things like Hurry Home...when you can't hurry home! So he helped me to come up with sentiments that were "solid and strong".

Standing the Watch by K Andrew
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzil Basics Paper, Twine: The Twinery, Diecut: My own made using SCAL3,

So with that in mind, I created this card using my hubby's favorite statue: The Lone Sailor. I made this diecut to cut on my Sillouhette with my Scal3. I love my Cricut but it's nice to have my Sillouhette (LOVE it too) when I want a more custom cut that I can't find on a cartridge. My card is very basic, but one I believe a military member would appreciate so far away from home. My hubby is very dedicated to the US Navy and has been overseas more than home. I think we counted that all together in our 10 years together we have lived together 19 months now! It is a big sacrifice, as he never got to see either of our boys learn to crawl or walk, and we have only celebrated our anniversary together once! lol! Im very proud of him and the dedication He has to our country. There's my sailor up there standing on the rocks! You know what is amazing to me? When I think of waves crashing against the rocks, I think of the parable Jesus told in Matthew about a wise man hearing him and obeying Him is like building their house on a solid rock, and one who does not builds his foundation on sand. By the way, my hubby said that it's hard to be an aethist when you are in a foxhole, and that most military members appreciate prayers....so with that in mind, if you are a praying person, please stop for just one minute and pray for all the US service men all across the world, pray for that God forms a hedge of protection around them and keeps them safe until they return home.
