Read Across America--Seuss-a-rrific!!!

So it's March, and that means Dr. Seuss birthday with Read Across America. We decided to turn it into a two week long full blow party! lol!
Our Wild Librarian with the Lorax Display

First of all, I decorated the library with a few Seuss displays: Oh the Places You'll Go, and The Lorax.
Next, we celebrated the week with lots of fun activities, with each day focusing on a new book and reading!
I dressed up as Thing 1 to kick off the whole shebang! heehee
Literary Potato Art Gallery

Next, students decorated "literary potatoes" to look like their favorite book characters--didn't they do an amazing job????
We also had a bookmark designing contest, and a Read-A-Palooza! Students log their reading minutes, and the highest classes will receive a special Seuss snack and reading at the end of the month!!
Interactive Collaborative Art Project for Read Across America

Last but not least, we had an interactive collaborative art project!

We also were so blessed to have several Guest Readers come to read to our kids! It was a total BLAST!!!!
